Solar Quote Checker: Is Your Solar Quote Fair?

A solar and battery quote is hard to judge on your own. You see one price, a list of model numbers and a savings figure, and no way to tell whether any of it is normal. We have spent months building a free tool that compares your quote with real quotes other UK households have shared, so you know what to ask before you sign.

How we are building it

1
Collecting real quotes
Hundreds of solar and battery quotes and prices shared by people across the UK. Each comparison uses at least 10 similar recent quotes, adjusted for your system size and battery.
2
Reading the small print
Warranty terms taken from the manufacturers' own documents, model by model, because warranties differ even within one brand.
3
Checking the installers
Company details looked up on Companies House and the MCS installer register.

What it will tell you

  • Is the price fair? Where your price sits against similar recent quotes.
  • What is missing? Scaffolding, a backup gateway or bird protection, and what each cost in other quotes.
  • Do the savings add up? The quote's figures checked against your area and today's prices.
  • Who stands behind it? The warranty terms and the installer's public records.

It works in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us unless you choose to add your quote, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number.

How Cool Power Co Works

How we work out costs

Running costs use the Ofgem price cap, 26.32p per kWh from October 2026, and each product's rated power. Where a maker does not publish a figure, we say so and do not guess.

How we are paid

Some links are affiliate links, and we may receive a fee when you request a quote. It costs you nothing extra. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Who we are

A small independent UK site. Guides are checked against Ofgem, GOV.UK and manufacturers' own listings, and corrected when figures change. About us →
