EcoFlow sells its STREAM plug-in solar range as a set of kits. Each kit pairs one 800W STREAM microinverter with two or four rigid panels and a bracket for a wall, a flat roof or a pitched roof. EcoFlow also sells STREAM batteries, which are a separate purchase and a different kind of installation.

Quick answer: EcoFlow's STREAM Facade and Roof kits cost £449 to £699 on EcoFlow's UK store, and both register entries that cover them read Compliant when we checked on 7 October. EcoFlow also sells a STREAM 800W Microinverter Kit with two 500W panels and no brackets at £549, though its register status is less clear, so ask EcoFlow before you buy. When we checked on 22 October, every Facade, Roof, Garden and Balcony kit was out of stock on EcoFlow's UK store, and the 800W Microinverter Kit was the only STREAM solar kit you could order. The STREAM batteries start at £799, but EcoFlow says they must be wired in by an electrician. Check EcoFlow's site for stock, and see the alternatives if the kit you want is unavailable.

The STREAM range at a glance

Prices and stock are from EcoFlow's UK store on 22 October 2026. They move often during EcoFlow's sales, so the price at checkout is the one that counts.

What you are buying

Every STREAM kit uses the same 800W STREAM microinverter, which turns the panels' DC power into mains electricity. What changes between kits is the panels and the bracket. Kits come with two 400W, 450W or 520W panels, or four 250W panels on the lightweight facade bracket.

The UK rules cap a plug-in system at 800W of output, so panels above 800Wp do not raise the peak. They do help in the morning, the evening and on cloudy days, when the panels produce less than their rating. That is why the larger kits still make more electricity over a year.

The kits have no battery. Power you do not use as it is made goes to the grid unpaid. If you are out most of the day, that matters more than which kit you choose. Our calculator shows the effect.

Self-install plug-in solar has been allowed in Great Britain since 27 August 2026, for kits that meet the official specification and are listed as Compliant on the Energy Networks Association (ENA) register. We checked the register itself, not EcoFlow's marketing.

ECOFL/21606/V1/A1EF-PS-800 + SPDG505-N108R12Compliant

EcoFlow's own pages say something different. EcoFlow's UK FAQ still says the STREAM DIY cable must be connected to the distribution board by a professional installer or electrician. Its battery listings say the same and add that STREAM is supplied with a cable with stripped ends and no plug. The register says the Facade and Roof kits are Compliant. Before you buy, ask EcoFlow to confirm in writing that the kit ships with a UK plug cable and the register reference on the box. If it arrives without a plug, it is not a self-install kit.

Before you fit any plug-in kit, check these:

The register reference on the box or the paperwork matches a Compliant entry on the ENA register.
It plugs into a normal UK socket with a fused BS 1363 plug. No adapters and no extension leads.
One plug-in system per home, with output capped at 800W.
EcoFlow's entries have moved between Compliant and Non-compliant before as it amended its submissions. Check the register again on the day you buy.
The Garden and Balcony kits are not named in either Compliant entry. Do not assume they share the status.

More on the rules: is balcony solar legal in the UK, are plug-in solar panels safe and the plug-in solar specification.

How we rate them: our scores out of 5 weigh four things: whether you can fit it yourself under the rules, value for money at EcoFlow's 22 October prices, how much it makes or stores, and whether you can buy it now. We compare EcoFlow's listings and the register; we haven't tested these kits ourselves.

Facade kits and prices

EcoFlow STREAM adjustable facade kit with two rigid solar panels mounted on a house wall
The Facade kit mounts on a wall. The 50° bracket tilts the panels out towards the sun. Image: EcoFlow.
Our rating: 4/5. Compliant on the register, the cheapest STREAM kit and a tilting bracket that makes the most of a wall. Loses marks for being out of stock and the open question over the UK plug.

Out of stock on 22 October. Every Facade kit below was unavailable on EcoFlow's UK store. The prices are EcoFlow's listed prices, so use the Notify me button on EcoFlow's page if you want one.

For a sunny wall: a house side, a garage or a garden wall. The 50° adjustable bracket tilts the panels away from the wall, which makes noticeably more power than the 90° bracket, where the panels hang flat against it. Choose 90° only if the wall or the space in front of it rules out a tilt.

90° lightweight1000Wp (4 × 250W)£698 £759See at EcoFlow →

The 90° lightweight kit uses four smaller 250W panels, which are easier to lift and fit more wall shapes. It costs more for slightly less panel power than the 1040Wp kits.

Roof kits and prices

EcoFlow STREAM roof kit with two rigid solar panels on a roof bracket
The Roof kit comes with a flat roof or pitched roof bracket, chosen at checkout. Image: EcoFlow.
Our rating: 3.5/5. Compliant, with a choice of flat or pitched bracket. Costs more than the Facade kit, a pitched roof is hard to reach safely, and it was out of stock.

Out of stock on 22 October. Neither the flat roof nor the pitched roof version was available on EcoFlow's UK store. The prices are EcoFlow's listed prices.

One product with two brackets, picked at checkout. The flat roof bracket suits a garage, an extension or a shed. The pitched roof bracket suits a sloping roof, but think hard about access: you need to be able to fit it, and later clean or remove it, safely.

Yes, the 1040Wp flat roof kit was cheaper than the 900Wp one on 22 October. That is EcoFlow's price, not a mistake on our part. If both come back at those prices, the 1040Wp is the one to buy.

The 800W kit with 500W panels

EcoFlow STREAM 800W Microinverter Kit, 2 × 500W panels

800W STREAM microinverter · two 500W rigid panels · no brackets

Our rating: 3.5/5

Why 3.5: The only kit in stock, with the biggest panels. No brackets, and it is not clear which register entry covers it.

EcoFlow listed this kit at £549 (was £678) on 22 October, and it was the only STREAM solar kit in stock that day. It has larger 500W panels than the Facade and Roof kits but no bracket, so you need your own mounting. It suits ground mounting in a garden, or a frame you already have. EcoFlow also lists versions with its own garden, balcony, facade and pitched roof brackets.

It is not clear which register entry this kit falls under. The ENA entry ECOFL/21606/V1/A1 lists the EF-PS-800 microinverter with an SPDG505 panel, which may be this kit, but EcoFlow does not say so on the listing. Ask EcoFlow which register reference applies, and whether it ships with a UK plug, before you order.

STREAM Ultra, Ultra X and AC Pro batteries

The STREAM batteries store daytime solar for the evening. They are not part of the self-install rules. EcoFlow's own listings say the STREAM batteries ship with a cable with stripped ends and no plug, and must be hardwired by a certified, registered electrician. Budget for that on top of the price.

Ultra, 3.5/5: The best-value STREAM battery: solar input for four panels and a 10-year warranty. Needs an electrician.

Ultra X, 3.5/5: Twice the battery and a higher output than the Ultra. Needs an electrician, and EcoFlow doesn't state the warranty on the listing.

AC Pro, 2.5/5: Same 1.92kWh as the Ultra but £100 more and with no solar input. Needs an electrician.

Which one? The AC Pro has no solar input. It charges from a socket, so it suits a home that already has solar panels or a plug-in kit, or one on a cheap overnight tariff. The Ultra takes up to four panels directly, so with four 500W panels it becomes a whole system: 2kW of panels charging a battery. The Ultra X is the same idea with twice the battery and a higher output for heavier appliances.

A 1.92kWh battery holds about £0.51 of electricity at 26.32p per kWh. If it fills and empties every day it could save about £185 a year, and less in winter, when there is little spare solar to store. That is before the electrician's cost. A battery adds most when you already export a lot of solar. Estimate your savings

A rough figure for one STREAM kit, with no battery. Pick your kit, where you live, which way it faces and how much of the day someone is at home.

0 kWh
Generated a year
£0
Saved a year
0 years
Rough payback

Assumes 900 kWh a year per kW of panels facing south at a good tilt in central England. Panels above 800Wp are counted at less than their rating because the inverter caps output at 800W. A 90° facade makes about 70% of a tilted panel's output. You only save on the share you use as it is made; plug-in systems earn nothing for what goes to the grid. Shading can cut these figures a lot.

On the default settings, the 1040Wp flat roof kit makes about 790 kWh a year and saves about £93, a payback of around 6 years. EcoFlow quotes savings of up to £115 a year for these kits, which needs a sunny site and most of the power used at home. At January's forecast price of 30.28p, every figure rises by about 15%. Our January price cap guide has the details.

Frequently asked questions

Is the EcoFlow STREAM legal to plug in yourself in the UK?

The STREAM Facade, Flat Roof and Pitched Roof kits are covered by ENA register entry ECOFL/21128/V1/A3, which read Compliant when we checked on 7 October 2026. That allows self-installation into a normal socket. EcoFlow's own UK pages still say an electrician must wire the cable in, so ask EcoFlow to confirm that your kit ships with a UK plug and the register reference before you buy.

Do I need an electrician for the EcoFlow STREAM?

For a Compliant kit with a UK plug, no. For the STREAM batteries (Ultra, Ultra X and AC Pro), yes. EcoFlow says they ship with a cable with stripped ends and must be hardwired by a certified, registered electrician.

Where can I buy EcoFlow STREAM in the UK?

EcoFlow sells the full STREAM range direct on its UK store, including the Facade and Roof kits, the 800W Microinverter Kit and the STREAM batteries. Stock changes often: on 22 October every Facade, Roof, Garden and Balcony kit was out of stock, and the 800W Microinverter Kit was the only one you could order. EcoFlow's product pages have a Notify me button for when a kit returns.

Which EcoFlow STREAM kit should I buy?

Match the bracket to the surface you have. A sunny wall suits the Facade kit with the 50° bracket. A garage or extension roof suits the flat roof kit. A sloping roof suits the pitched roof kit if you can reach it safely. Of the panel sizes, the 1040Wp kits make the most over a year, and the 1040Wp flat roof kit was cheaper than the 900Wp one at EcoFlow's 22 October prices.

What is the difference between the STREAM Ultra and the Ultra X?

Both are STREAM batteries with a built-in solar input for up to four panels. The Ultra holds 1.92kWh and was £799 on 22 October 2026. The Ultra X holds 3.84kWh, gives up to 2,300W of AC output and was £1,259. Both need hardwiring by an electrician in the UK.

What is the STREAM AC Pro?

A 1.92kWh STREAM battery with no solar input. It charges from a socket, so it stores power from existing solar panels or a cheap overnight tariff. It was £899 at EcoFlow on 22 October 2026, up from a £659 sale price the week before, and like the other STREAM batteries, must be hardwired by an electrician in the UK.

Can I add a battery to an EcoFlow STREAM plug-in kit?

Yes, the STREAM batteries work with the STREAM microinverter, but a battery is not covered by the plug-in self-install rules, so it needs an electrician. Any battery also has to follow the placement rules that apply from October 2026.

Is there an EcoFlow discount code?

We do not have a reader code for EcoFlow at the moment. The prices on this page already include the discounts EcoFlow was showing on 22 October 2026. We will add a code here if EcoFlow gives us one.
