The UK home energy market is full of noise. Installers quoting inflated savings figures. Comparison sites that aren’t really comparing anything. Government scheme pages written in language nobody outside Whitehall can follow. And a constant stream of online content that tells you solar panels will pay for themselves in three years — without mentioning that assumes a south-facing roof in Cornwall and perfect weather.

Cool Power Co exists to cut through all of that. We research UK energy solutions thoroughly, write about them honestly, and help homeowners and renters make decisions they won’t regret.

That means publishing real cost figures even when they’re higher than the headlines suggest. It means telling you when something isn’t worth it yet. And it means being upfront about the fact that we receive referral fees when we connect you with installers — because that’s how we keep this service free, and you deserve to know that.

A Note From Our Founder

I’ve lived in places where home energy isn’t an abstract concern — it’s a daily reality. Growing up in Cambridge meant cold winters and heating bills that climbed every year. Living in Mexico and Thailand gave me a different perspective entirely: in those climates, air conditioning isn’t a luxury, it’s essential, and I watched solar energy go from a novelty to a genuine part of everyday life in both countries. Now based in Spain, I deal with scorching summers that make keeping a home comfortable a real challenge.

Back in the UK, my mum’s house cooks in summer and haemorrhages heat in winter — and she’s far from alone. Millions of British homeowners are in the same position: paying too much to heat and cool their homes, aware that better solutions exist, but confused about what’s actually worth the investment.

That’s the gap Cool Power Co is built to fill. Not another sales funnel dressed up as advice — but a genuinely useful resource that treats you like an adult and gives you the full picture.
