In short

We only collect what you send us through our contact form, plus anonymous analytics if you accept cookies.

Quote requests go straight to the installer or quote service you choose. We don't collect them ourselves.

Affiliate links tell a retailer that a sale came from us. They don't give us your name or details.

We never sell your personal data.

1. Who We Are

Cool Power Co (coolpowerco.co.uk) is an independent UK website with guides, calculators and product comparisons for home energy. Cool Power Co is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in it at inquiries@coolpowerco.co.uk.

2. What We Collect and Why

Our other calculators run in your browser. The figures you enter aren't sent to us or stored.

3. Quote Requests

We don't take quote requests ourselves. When you ask for a quote, you choose where your details go:

"Get a fitted price from Blue Ape" takes you to Blue Ape Renewables' own website. Anything you enter there goes to Blue Ape under its privacy policy.

"Compare quotes" opens a form provided by our quote partner, leads.work. The details you enter go to leads.work, which passes them to installers covering your area so they can contact you with quotes, under its own privacy policy.

We may earn a commission if you go ahead with an installer you reached through our site. That never changes what you pay.

4. Affiliate Links

Many product links on our site are affiliate links, through Awin, Webgains, TradeTracker, Paid On Results and Amazon Associates, or directly with a retailer. When you click one, the network or retailer sets a cookie on its own site so that, if you buy, the sale is credited to us. We see sales totals and commission, not your name, address or what else you buy. Each network and retailer handles that data under its own privacy policy.

Where data goes to the US, it's protected by the UK-US data bridge or the UK's standard contract clauses.

6. How Long We Keep It

7. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time, for example by changing your cookie settings. Email inquiries@coolpowerco.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.

8. Cookies

We only set analytics cookies if you accept them in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. Our cookie policy lists every cookie we use.

9. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we change how we use personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
